Jan Marsden-Johnson Ph.D CCC-SLP

is a speech-language pathologist with over 25 years of experience from a variety of professional settings. She received her Ph.D. from Northwestern University in 1990, specializing in Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) and child Language.  Jan is a faculty member at University of Illinois, Chicago, teaching graduate level courses in the Department of Human Development and Disabilities.  She has also taught at Elmhurst College, Northwestern University and Oakton College.  Jan works with families and school districts to evaluate children and adolescents for AAC and Assistive Technology (AT) needs.  She advocates for children at Due Process Hearings.  Jan also works as an evaluator for Cook County Juvenile Probation Dept. Jan specializes in treatment and evaluation of children and adolescents with AAC and AT needs, autism, dyspraxia, oral motor and feeding disorders, auditory processing, and other speech and language disorders.
